Do China Citizens Need a Visa for Jordan in 2026?

Visa on Arrival

Chinese citizens traveling to Jordan for tourism can obtain a visa on arrival at the airport or apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) beforehand. If staying more than 3 nights, purchasing the 'Jordan Pass' is highly recommended as it waives the visa fee and includes entry to Petra.

Step-by-Step Application Process

1

Decide on Jordan Pass

If you plan to stay in Jordan for at least 3 consecutive nights and visit Petra, buy the Jordan Pass online before your trip.

2

Alternatively, e-Visa or VOA

If you don't buy the Jordan Pass, you can apply for an e-Visa through the MoI portal, or simply get a Visa on Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport.

3

Arrival at Queen Alia Airport

Proceed to the immigration counters. Present your Jordan Pass (printed or digital), or pay the visa fee (40 JOD) for the Visa on Arrival.

4

Entry Clearance

The immigration officer will stamp your passport with the visa.

Required Documents

  • β€”Valid Chinese passport (at least 6 months validity)
  • β€”Jordan Pass (optional, but highly recommended for tourists)
  • β€”Round-trip flight ticket
  • β€”Proof of accommodation in Jordan
  • β€”Visa fee of 40 JOD (approx. 56 USD) if not using the Jordan Pass. Card payments are accepted at the airport.

Important Tips

  • β€’The Jordan Pass is a massive money-saver. A single entry visa is 40 JOD, and a 1-day Petra ticket is 50 JOD (total 90 JOD). The Jordan Pass 'Wanderer' tier covers both for 70 JOD.
  • β€’Visa on arrival is generally straightforward for Chinese citizens arriving by air. However, rules at land borders (like the King Hussein Bridge) differ, so check beforehand if entering from Israel/Palestine.
  • β€’Ensure your passport does NOT contain Israeli stamps or evidence of travel to Israel if you plan to visit other certain Arab nations afterward, though Jordan itself maintains diplomatic relations with Israel.

Easiest Way to Get It

Buy the Jordan Pass online before you fly. It makes the arrival process smooth, waives the visa fee, and saves you money on the major tourist sites.

Visa rules can change. Always verify with the official embassy.
