Complete Pre-Arrival Form

While not mandatory, filling out the online Visa on Arrival form on the official Nepal Immigration website 15 days before your trip saves time at the airport.

Arrival in Nepal

Upon arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) or a designated land border, head to the electronic kiosk machines.

Print the Receipt

If you didn't fill out the form online, enter your details at the kiosk. It will take your photo and print a receipt with a barcode.

Immigration Desk

Take your passport and the receipt to the immigration desk marked for Visa on Arrival. Present your documents to the officer.

Get Your Visa

The officer will issue your tourist visa. For Chinese citizens, this visa is free (gratis).

—Valid Chinese passport (at least 6 months validity from the date of arrival)
—One passport-sized photograph (if not using the electronic kiosk)
