Step-by-Step Application Process

1

Apply for e-Visa (Recommended)

Go to the official Saudi Visa portal (visa.visitsaudi.com), fill out the application, pay the fee (which includes mandatory health insurance), and receive the e-Visa via email.

2

Travel to Saudi Arabia

Fly into major international airports like King Khalid (RUH) in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz (JED) in Jeddah, or King Fahd (DMM) in Dammam.

3

Immigration Check

Present your passport and printed e-Visa (or apply for the Visa on Arrival at the self-service kiosks/counters) to the immigration officer.

Required Documents

  • Valid Spanish Passport (must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival)
  • Approved e-Visa (printed copy) OR fee payment for Visa on Arrival
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking)
  • Mandatory health insurance (cost is automatically included in the e-Visa or Visa on Arrival fee)

Important Tips

  • The local currency is the Saudi Riyal (SAR). Credit cards (Visa/Mastercard/mada) are widely accepted everywhere via contactless payment (Apple Pay/Google Pay are very popular).
  • Modest dress is required in public. For men, no shorts above the knee. For women, covering the shoulders and knees is mandatory; wearing an abaya or hijab is no longer required for foreign tourists.
  • Alcohol, pork products, and public display of other religions are strictly prohibited.
  • Everything closes during the five daily prayer times (usually for 20-30 minutes). Download a prayer time app to plan your day.
  • The weekend in Saudi Arabia is Friday and Saturday. Friday morning is very quiet, as it is the time for congregational prayers.

Easiest Way to Get It

Apply for the e-Visa online a few days before your trip, pay the fee (approx. 140 EUR including insurance), and fly into Riyadh or Jeddah with your printed visa.

Visa rules can change. Always verify with the official embassy.
